Man, what a disapointing day.

We fished some oyster bars early, around the mouth of Ochlockonee Bay. Picked up one nice 17-18" trout and two shorts. The water was stained but not as bad as I was expecting and I was really surprised at how little grass was floating.

It was so calm, Vic decided to run out to Ochlockonee Shoals. We fooled around out there for an hour or so with no results. We then ran out another three or four miles to a can't fail Grunt Hole. This turned out to be a bad idea because we didn't have but one sinker on the boat and Vic couldn't get his bottom machine to work.

Rode back to Piney Island and tried a few more spots but never could find a bite.

Chalk it up as a learning experience?? It was for us, so thanks for the report! A nice day on calm water, beats a lot of alternatives. And you can't ever catch 'em lest you go out!
