Frisky bass were hitting salamanders w/ no weight, worked nice and slow. It's pretty cool to be able to see the fish hit underwater, even at the end of your cast. Caught bass while it was drizzling, I think it camoed us from their view. Then it stopped and so did the bite. Only caught 2 after dark.
Supposedly their biting pretty good at Carr also, but you have to get through those pickeral things to catch bass.

salamanders
Had good results with dk green salamanders last weekend also. I was west of here in DeFuniak Springs at a friends pond, lat in the afternoon. Guess it was a salamander weekend. I shoulds tried it without weights, I didn't think about that variation.
