I took this one for a ride yesterday, a very sweet ride, very stable and drafted about 8 inches

The Dusky "sitting under the shed" is my nephews
we have gutted it and are getting ready to start redoing the inside
it has a 200 Rude that will go on it when the boat getts finished
It will be the deep water Grouper boat "but will be expensive to take out"
The other is the one I got from Csmarine and will also have to be gutted and redone on the inside before being used "so many boats, so little money"
though I have considered cutting it down a tad and makeing it into a Bay/Sallow water Grouper boat

Here is a few ideas for boats that might be roughly comparable in price to the CS 1800.
Blue Wave, I kind of like that V series they have.
Kenner, they don't really seem to have gotten the same bad rep as a lot of other boats after Johnny Morris bought them out.
Blazer rolled gunnel??????????????
Explorer, don't know where the closest dealer would be but I have been very impressed with how well Vic's has stood up to being "Victimized". I think they make a model with more freeboard than Vic's
Cape Horn 16,17,18?????? getting more pricey but the 16' is 16'8" with a 7'7" beam.
I have heard good things about that CS 1800 RG, I just don't think I would like it that much for the flats or bass fishing......
You could also follow TinCan's lead and buy a Key West. Just get the 196 to "one up" him a little bit.
Just some ideas, don't believe for a minute that I actually know what I'm talking about.

C Skiff 1800
Just a suggestion but if your interested in the carolina skiff and you dont mind driving a little ways you might want to check out the sportscenter in Perry, Ga. They seem to be a couple thousand cheaper than everybody else from what I can tell. The only thing is you might not want to do business with a dealer that far away considering your luck with Mike's. Sorry bout that by the way.The 1800RG is around $14,000. But that s with a 90 merc.
hope it helps.

I've always had a liking for Cape Horn, may be because they are built 45 minutes from my hometown though. I've heard lots of good things about the Cape Horn's and even more good things about their newer models. Twin-V seems to have a good reputation also though, and I like the cat inshore models.
