I haven't eaten blue crabs in a few years and they are selling for around 15-00 a dozen.
Can anyone suggest where I could go to catch some. I have three traps, and getting fish heads isn't a problem.
I don't want to put them out in open water because the commercial guys would steal them in a heart beat around Oyster bay when
I lived and fished out of there. If there there is a place where I cold toss them out, and sit and drink beer while I wait please let me know.
Thanks.

Re: BLUE CRABS
First I'm not sure the commercial guys would take them - they leave my pinfish traps alone.
But I'd try off Shell Point Beach, Mashes Sands or in Alligator Harbor...
Also see lots of folks crab with a line and net at Hickory Mound.

I've seen them crab off the little pier where you launch your boat at the lighthouse. A family had a 5 gallon bucket full one day using chicken necks on a string and hand nets. I agree with bman about the commercial men taking any, especially if you are watching.
