Back to the Coast

Post by MudDucker »

Well, I figured the latest artic blast would send some new birds. Hunting one big lake Saturday with no joy. Hunted the coast Sunday. Kicked some birds up from close to a shoreline, so we set up and waited. Only redheads and we limited in about an hour or so. There was a nasty low tide with a big wind in the afternoon, so it made for choppy travel. Not for the small tin boats, although we saw a few. Got boat back on trailer and as we were heading out, the GW was pulling in. He didn't stop us old men, not that we had anything to worry about.

Only problem we had was an issue with my new MudBuddy cranking. When we went to crank up to chase a bird, the sucker would not start. After multiple attempts, could smell it was flooded. Piddled with it and finally got it to fire and run. Shut it down, finished the limit and it started right back up. Ran fine back to the ramp. Tried it again later when refueling truck and no joy again. Got to get that one figured out this week for sure!
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

Well glad to hear you got into some birds. Hope the mudmotor issue is figured out quickly and cheaply.
