Lawyer recommendation needed
Need a lawyer-type to rewrite some wills. It's been 40 years and I don't think anybody wants my kids anymore.

Re: Lawyer recommendation needed
Whoever you end up with make sure you really understand the fees. I had ours redone last year: close to $1000-.
No, I'm not a multi Millionaire with trusts and all that other stuff. Just didn't pay enough attention when the the fee details were explained.
My opinion (after I paid the bill) was that is a lot for a process that is mostly done through checking boxes on a word processing program.
I mean, its not like hes a plumber coming to the house on a Sunday morning!

Not sure what type of law he practices, but Atticus on here is a private attorney. There may be others (at least one in Valdosta--Mudducker).
Alan Cox is mine and he's done excellent estate work for my family. J. Alan Cox, 850-298-4444.

If you're in the Crawfordville area: I went to Deirdre Farrington of Farrington Law Office http://www.farrington-law.com
I paid around $750 two years ago, and got everything that was needed done.

I'm familiar with the Law firm that Jana McConnaughhay is at, some friends and clients have used them and have been happy with their service.
While you are working on wills etc. if you have any significant assets discuss Long Term Care planning as well, the time to plan for that is well in advance of needing it unless you don't have any assets and are willing to give the gov't what you do have. As people are living longer the probability of needing some type of care is higher. Have a friend who's wife is in the nursing home due to cognitive issues, he had a LTC insurance policy that lasted for 5 years, it's paid out over $282,000 in benefits over the past 5 years but he is about to start paying $7,100/mo. for her care which pretty much only includes room and board.
