Ochlockonee Bay, 10/9

Post by GT Fisherman »

My buddy from Atlanta and I put the boat in around 2:00pm. The wind was too high, so we stayed inside the bridge and fished the grass banks. The fishing was slow but steady. We caught 7 or 8 short reds from 2:30pm until 4:00pm. At 4, the wind died down and the fish started biting better. From 4 to 5:30 we caught another 20 shorts, one 22", one 18" sheephead, and that one really big red that broke the line. Never saw it, but it was huge!

We were fishing live shrimp, bottom rigged, and as close to the grass as possible. Not too bad for two city boys on a windy day.

GT- nice work

Were you drifting, or did you anchor down in a good spot?

Thanks-

mjsigns, we caught the majority of the fish in two anchor spots. Wind and tide were too fast to drift.
