St. Marks 5/9

Post by Flybaer »

Got a late start yesterday. Initially targeted 3 foot depths. Not much luck. Eventually found the fish in 5 foot depths. Caught quite a few shorts and ended the day with 8 keepers in the boat. Biggest wast just over 18. No catfish. Only one lady fish and 3 sharks. I fished gulp and my buddy used live shrimp.

Good day. What caught most? Shrimp or gulp?

4-1/2' to 5-1/2' seems to be the right depth right now. Been getting all the shorts I can catch on Gulp (using about a 3' drop) but Ive been getting most of my keepers on Pin Fish. Doesn't take long with a Sabiki to load the live well with bait fish.

I put out a line with a pinfish. Had it in the water most of the day. All it caught was one shark.

You mentioned no catfish. Fished both days this past weekend and I didn't catch a single cat either. A welcome surprise.
