Snapper Season Trip 2 - Another great day on the Big Pond!

Had planned to go Tuesday but we all know how that worked out- Collin messed up our plans.

Talked to Blake Gardner with Reel Smoker Charters and he had an open spot Thursday.
Had two buddies from Atlanta come down Wednesday night, two of my friends here and one from Blountstown drive down to Panacea yesterday.

We were greeted with a beautiful sunrise and a little welcomed cloud cover.

Slight wind and NOAA has it right- 1-2s on the way out and calmer all day

It didn't take long to find the grouper and snapper

And the Red Grouper were cooperative as well

The fish were thick and I can promise you the stocks are way up in our area.
LOTS of small fish make me think there has to be great breading stock.

We finished the day introducing our Atlanta friends to Reef Donkeys!
We told them what to expect but there is no way to prepare. Especially when your arms are already tired from cranking up big grouper and snapper.

The last one was a BEAST!

All the AJs were revived and released

Ended up the day with 269 lbs of grouper and snapper

If you guys have a chance to book with Blake do it... Great guy that is still having fun fishing.
He worked hard to put us on fish and

We went out with Blake on the 5th. He definitely will put you on some good fish. I'll will be back!

Its bad enough to log on here on the morning after one of your trips, but to see them earlier via facebook while working is a killer! Looks like another awesome trip!
