Probably hit by a big tiger. They cruise that area pretty regularly.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

Hard to tell, but it looks like a smooth cut, not jagged or torn. I'm not an expert on shark bites either.

A lot more big tigers hang around St. George & CSB than people want to know about.

Yikes! I guess one bite was enough to do the job.... What do you think the width of the bite is? 16inches or so?

WOW!!

Looking at the tail and the person next to it it could be 20 inches.
Wish we could tell for sure.

Bigger than I want to see in person.... :o

I'm guessing that this was not posted on the Chamber of Commerce's web site. Thanks for sharing; I think.

Just ran across this video on Facebook. I know a lot of you don't have Facebook, but the video still might work. I couldn't find it on YouTube or I would have posted it from there.

・・・
For those of you who didn't see on Facebook or just wanna see again, here's the 40 second clip of a 7-8 foot hammerhead being eaten off my line by a 1,000+ pound tiger shark while I was out tuna fishing with @pelagiccharters ‪#‎sharkfishing‬ ‪#‎venicelouisiana‬ ‪#‎fishing‬ ‪#‎nature‬
