What are the differences in the two installs?

Batymetry refers to depths. If the bathymetric has the spot elevations, does it have the contours? Does the bathymetric install have the channel markers and hazards?
What was I supposed to do today?

Go with the Regular install because it includes both the bathmeteric data and the navgation aids.

I put a 64 MB SD card in my new Garmin 178C and loaded all the charts and subcharts from Mexico Beach to Stienhatchee onto the card. Fired that bad boy up, and, it is a bad boy!

It has as much or more info on bottom, wrecks, submerged stuff, and other info than the waterprrof charts I have been using. It has more information regarding tides, moon, and navigation on this device than I could ever imagine. Makes me want to retire early and spend 4 days a week on the water. Are ya' listening Aucilla?

Still Learning.

DB- Wait till you download your tracks to your computer, and are able to actually "see" your exact navigation path on any day you went out fishing. It has really opened a new universe for me.

I would encourage anyone who has a Garmin or compatable GPS (with an interface port) to get their hands on this software. At a minumum, the sorfware/charts will answer many many questions about different locations, and give you the ability to "return to the exact same fishing spot".
