St. Marks Fishing

Post by McRed »

I was wondering if there is anywhere out of St. Marks, that's not too far out, that you can catch snapper and grouper. Any kind of info would be greatly appreciated. Trying to help my sister get on some fish.

If you want keeper grouper this time of year you will have to go at least 20 miles out of St. Marks. This will get you to the 40-50 foot range. Snapper fishing is almost non existant out of St. Marks. It's much better out of Carrabelle this time of year.

If you want to have a chance for some small grouper, cobia, mackerel etc. I would sugget the Big Bend or St. Marks reefs. These are fairly close in. The numbers can be found on the Area Charts page.
