Saturday disappointment

Post by xXLoneBowmanXx »

Hit the water out of carrabelle at 7:30 am and ran out about 16 miles. Chop picked up a little faster than expected but we nailed 1 keeper and 1 short snapper right off the bat. I had one nice snapper on the line that got claimed by the tax man, but That was it. Fished hard until 1 and gave up a bunch of tackle to the sharks. Ended up getting sea sick for the first time in my life and lost an anchor. Headed in after that to spend some time with friends on the island and there was a very distinct wall of tea stained water hitting the saltwater right by the island. I put on the snorkel for a little bit just to mess around and visibility was next to nothing even in the saltwater. It's looking grim for the early part of scallop season.
NOAA reports are the reason I have trust issues.
