Hooks?

The Gamakatsu Live Bait HD hook is a short shank heavy wire hook. Never seen one bent. Even off shore. As Chalk said, they hide well in pinfish, chub or finger mullet.
The Owner SSW hook is probably the best all-round salt water hook I've used. You can get more than one trip out of them before they rust up. Sharpest out-of-the-pack hook I've seen. You can get them with needle point or cutting point.
These hooks are available in blood red color also.

Lit. my grandfather commercial fished with kahle or as he called them "trout hooks" way back in the 1950's. Mostly from Aucilla and St. Marks. So they've been a local favorite in the big bend for a while.
Don't care....graduated to Owner and Gamakatsu when I started bass fishing. Stuck on em now.

Lit. I do use Kahle hooks at times. I have a few in my boat all the time. I like the way they set, with cut bait. Usually hooks on the lips not the throat, as cut bait tends to do. I also like to use them for shinner fishing for Largemouth bass.
I really didn't know, or really had not checked with Owner or Gamakatsu for Kahle hooks. Thanks for the tip, might need to check them out.
