I decided to take the boat via water rather than land, because it seemed the amount of time to trailer the boat, launch it, and then reverse the process would be longer than the boat ride there.
The forecast on Saturday was for light winds out of the east at 6 to 8.
That was not the case. Winds were blowing at 20 to 25 out of the east, and the ride around Bald Point was unpleasant to say the least.
It ended up taking me about 2.5 hours to get to the Carrabelle river entrance, and I was soaked. This was the wind history when I got to Carrabelle.

I fished for a bit that day on the dock, and I did catch a jack....I also got some tips from Greenbone, here on the forum, but unfortunately, the weather prevented me from trying them, but many thanks!

The weather did not improve the next two days, with constant winds blowing out of the east with intermittent rain showers. I got out on the bay on Monday morning for a bit, and caught a few sailcats, but otherwise nothing.

Tuesday, the weather was better, and we went to the east pass and drifted live baits at the bottom, in the middle, and on the top, all with no luck. The good news is that the crab trap at the dock produced pretty well, and I was able to enjoy some fresh crab.

That afternoon, I took the boat back to St Marks since the Wednesday forecast was terrible again. The ride back was much more enjoyable, and I did see some big bait schools about 4 miles offshore.
Water temps are still holding around 80f.
