...that was the condition of the Apalachee Bay today.

Inshore was almost slick calm, and offshore was close with some long period swells.

However, no fish wanted to bite.
A few short trout, catfish and sharks in deeper water ( 22+ )

Live shrimp and live panfish couldn't buy a bite.

Apparently, they didnt like the Nestor washing machine

I agree. Short trout on the flats, not much on St Marks reef. Released a 21 inch gag and did bring home a decent flounder.

A friend and I got a few out of St. Marks. The weather didn't clear as early as the forecast predicted, so the morning was windy and grey. We fished East of the lighthouse and could see blue skies to the West over toward Mashes Sands. Around 1:30 in the afternoon, the sky cleared, the wind died and the bite shut down. We had some trout up to 24" and a red that was 22", so we headed back up river and put it on the trailer.
We caught a lot of small fish and catfish, but some decent ones in between. Topwater didn't work at all despite my repeated efforts. Gulp shrimp on a jighead and Cajun Thunders seemed to do the trick. Water was stirred up pretty good, 71 degrees in the morning and 73 in the afternoon.

Exactly what I experienced Steve, minus the keeper fish.

Jeff and I went east and came across a dozen or so redfish, 1.5' of water or less - we were able to come within a rod's poke from each of them.

Topwater had a lot of followers, one trout. Weedless soft-plastic produced two reds and a trout. Trout were small, Reds were 20 - 21".

It turned out to be a gorgeous day out there; first day back for me since elbow surgery. Boat performed well, the 115 SHO was perfect. But my *&^S TrollingMotor was running great and then just completely died. No power indication on "TEST" at all; whereas the batteries were charged overnight and tested FULL prior to launch. Connection may have come loose somewhere, I'm going to have to check.

Comatose.....that was the situation at Cbelle too. I was lucky to catch one slot Red. The rest of them (few) we not interested in eating, no sir, not one bit. Could not buy a strike on topwater.

But......boy it was a pretty day.
