Looks like a good time. There will be another tourney at the same time put if Shields, I think -Salavation Army Slam Tourney.

You are correct Chris.
Has anyone else looked at the Ducks tourney rules? The slot limit on redfish is 18-26. Why the one inch reduction?

I didn't catch that. That's a little strange. I'll email and ask.

They are doing what the Saltwater Classic did when they had a tournament, they are concerned about people bringing in "illegal" fish and FWC writing tickets at the event.....which makes no sense to only do redfish since you will get the same ticket for a short trout or if you have two over 19".

Confirmed that the rule is intentional and is in place to prevent illegal fish from being harvested for the tournament.

Does seem a bit weird to only do it for one species.

You deserve a ticket if you bring a short fish to tournament scales. you’re allowed to have a trout over 19, so putting it in the weighmaster’s hand doesn’t automatically mean an angler broke a law. If you bring a red over 27” it’s a bad look.

Not saying I agree with the rule (I don’t), but it makes sense to me.

I’m in the SA tournament but wish these folks luck.
