Shotgun Shells: Dove Loads

Post by Scoop Sea »

Does anyone have a lead on getting some 12 ga. shells for the upcoming dove season? Finding any in the area is pretty challenging. Any tips are appreciated.

Hes probably referring to high brass dove loads which had been hard to come by. Call Kevins. My understanding is they have been getting a steady supply.

Yeah Kevin’s has them but you’re going to pay for them. I think they are $14-16 a box.

High brass for dove?

I guess every field needs a guy that thinks he can kill one from 75 yards. It keeps the birds flying.

That’s all folks shoot now that I shoot with. Im not opposed to using them, I just like to shoot a lot so I go the cheaper route. We also shoot bigger fields that need the coverage.

I’d be very selective with my shots if I paid for what they are going for.

So now its not "sporty" to shoot doves with high brass?? Give me a break. If anything you have a less chance of wounding them and not finding. I bet you dont fish with live bait either...smh

I don’t care what you use or how many times you shoot. But we’ve all been posted up next to the guy with a modified choke and high brass 7.5s that thinks he can hit them coming out of the clouds.

If you’ve never hunted next to this guy, its because the guy next to you is hunting next to him. Image
