St. Marks 1/13/02

The boss let me have the morning off to go fishing, as long as I made it to work by 1300. It was 7AM, cold but clear and a slight wind, but not bad. Me and my buddy stayed in the river tossing various lures to include mirrodines and Paul Browns. We hit creek after creek on the rising tide. The fishing today was a bounty. Several oversized redfish to include a nice 36"er. We caught two nice limits of trout and each kept a nice 26 inch Red. There was not too many boats around us, and we didnt know if they were catching fish or not, but my guess is they probably were. After catching 20+ trout, and no less than 20 reds, we headed to the ramp to thaw out. A banner day that I will remember for a long time.

Stayed in the river and hit all the st marks feeder creeks. Some had lots of fish and some had a few, but almost every one of them had something. I'm surprised we didn't catch a flounder. We made it as far as marker 22.

Great report! Any particular color of lure the fish were liking?

Color didn't seem to matter too much as long it was presented slow. Our baits were smaller mirrodines and 3" soft plastics from the color white to natural mullet gray
