Quick scallop report
Put in at Keaton this past Saturday to take my wife scalloping for her birthday, surprisingly the ramp was not nearly as bad as I expected. The guys working the ramp for Taylor Co had everything running smooth, even hurrying people along that were lollygagging.
We were on the flats by 10, and the scallops were of good size and quantity, I've seen it better but I've also seen it way worse.
By 2 o'clock we had our 10 gallons and headed in to see the storm we saw ran people south of Keaton back in as the ramp wasn't bad at all and we were cleaning scallops at the VRBO before 4.

Thanks for the report. Wish my wife would ask to go lol. So you say they have attendants at the ramp now that's awesome and long overdue. Glad ya'll found them. How many people were at the landing when you came in? Were attendants still there helping the idiots move along?

Yes the attendants were still there cracking the whip lol, my wife even got complimented since she handles the truck while I handle the boat and one of them shamed some other group since they took longer just to get their trailer backed in than it took us to get out and across the road. We had to wait for 4 boats to get out before we did so it wasn't bad at all. We're probably going back again in the next couple of weeks.
I scouted for scallops around St Mark's a little on our last trip, there weren't any shallow around gray mare but there were some out deeper. I have heard some have been found over towards Lanark. It's been so rough that there was a group that ran from Shell Island fish camp all the way to dekle beach just so the kids could find some scallops.

I'm glad they finally got some attendants at the ramp. I hope to go at least once before the season goes out. What general area did you find them? Fish any?

Dekle is where we were both days, unfortunately no we didn't fish since with 5 in the boat there just wasn't room.

Thanks, I figured that would probably have to go if I get to. I understand the being too crowded.

Same here! we went to Keaton last Sunday. The attendants complimented my wife's trailer backing skills as well. It was a very smooth process now that attendants are there.
