Floundering

Post by Philwauke »

I'm staying down by St Andrews State Park. It won't be completely low tide the next few days but any suggestions where I can go floundering?

I don’t know much about floundering or Saint Andrews State Park, but if you figure it out, I would love to hear about it in a blog post. A few pictures would be great, too.

Are you fishing from a boat or walking and/or gigging? I have not targeted flounder in years, but I did go with a friend at Wakulla beach once and he walked around with a headlight and pulled a cooler on a float. There's an area on both sides of the boat ramp that looks shallow and sandy. If you are fishing with a rod and reel, bounce a weighted shrimp (or artificial) off the bottom with a slow retrieve.
