Bottom bumping and how often -----

do you return to a productive spot. Considering I am new to offshore and have been only two places, one public, one we found. So far the spot I found has been good, but do not want to clean it out. So how often do you visit the spot before looking for more.

Give me the number and I'll check it from time to time to see that it's not overfished. :-D I try not to keep more than a couple keepers off of one spot. I know that I usually keep one off of Buckeye and move on. Seems like there is always one there. You and I both know how much that gets fished. :-?

Lend the number to me and I'll troll the area for 100 yards in every direction and watch the bottom and see if there are any fish left behind... :-D

I try not to hit my sweet spots any more than once every 2 weeks. But, when I can't find something elsewhere, I've been known to frequent a spot I recently fished.
What was I supposed to do today?

I try not to hit a good grouper/snapper spot more than 3-4 times per year. Some of these spots are seasonal. They just don't seem to hold near as many fish in the summer vs winter. Seabass and grunt spots I will fish more often. They seem to recover more quickly.
