Aucilla Trip

Post by FTReelty »

Did get to go Saturday with oldest son. Arrive at 630 to get at least 2 hrs before negative tide. Headed out and took west cutoff, man it was low. Tried for trout at mouth of cutoff. Only couple shorts. Headed to west a little ways and picked up 2 nice reds. threw one back over slot. still no trout. Moved back east to mouth of Aucilla and tried a few more spots with no luck. Moved a little further and went up in creek and caught several really nice trout. Had big one get away at boat, 2 more reds...Ended day with 2 reds, 2 trout. water temp was about 65, very clear, used all artifical. Didnt find the magic bait, but had a great day. Weather was perfect.

I’m sure it was a great day on your water building for your son.

Great trip and great to see an actual report instead of spam postings about counterfeit software or game currency :-D

:-D Nice. Sounds like a great time. Out from hickory mound is usually good 4-6’ this time of year if water above 65degrees.
