Aucilla Trip

Post by FTReelty »

Took the wife on Saturday and started at daylight. Headed out the river and tried a few spots in 5-7 feet of water. Fished gulps and z-mann with no luck except a ladyfish and a 30 inch Cobia. Water temp was 68. Decided to move in a little closer and fished in 3-4 feet out from several creeks and ended up with 9 nice trout, a spanish(gold spoon) and a over slot red. Caught them all on a suspending lures from about 1:00-2:30 when the tide shifted and was going out. Did not get a chance to really target reds, but suspect they were closer to the bank or in the creeks. Saw several manatee and bald eagle. Water was calm and clear. Great day at the river. Back at landing at 3:30.

The Aucilla seems like a beautiful place to catch a fish.
