GPS lockup

My Garmin 76 locked up as soon as I turned it on this morning. It would start looking for sattelites for about 5 seconds, then lock up. I couldn't even turn it off. Had to remove all power to turn it off. Anyone else had this problem?

Sounds like what my Magellan did after my son dropped it in the water. It would try to boot up then lock. Did it get wet?

It's never been submerged. Only rained on. I downloaded and uploaded Saturday night. Everything was fine. It locked up Sunday morning first thing.
