St. Marks....JOYRIDE

Post by dolphinatic »

The wife wanted to go for a Sunday evening joyride on the water.....so I grabbed a few poles and headed off for St. Marks. We didn't get down there 7:00 pm and there was only 2 other trucks there at the fort. We launced the boat and headed down towards the lighthouse. Fishing was not at the top of the list for this trip, however my 15 month old just got his first rod/reel....the classic Snoopy with the plastic fish  He wanted to play with it...you know, throw it in the water, so we threw it a few times and I let him attempt to reel it in. Every time he got it back in we would say "look...you caught another yellow one!" He would clap his hands and during all this I never even thought of fishing myself. Anyhow, we stayed out till after dark, braving the cold although the wind and died down to nothing. A nice night to be on the water with a very bright moon....if the wife and son would not have been on this trip, I would still be out there throwing a topwater!!!!

Here's a few pics from the trip this evening.....

dolphinatic thats the way to do it with the kids, let them do it at their pace. Took my 2 boys too many times and stayed too long when they were young. guess all they can think about now is getting baked in the sun and being bored when I say flats fishing :( . but its ok they still like to bream fish with me.
