ROCKET take all the time you need. That's what WHAT'S HIS NAME does when he reels in a DINK.

That's because I was allowed to reel in the dinks. The 57 times I had a good fish on, JT would make every attempt to cut my line. I had to bring them in quickly.

That reminds me,if you fish with this guy be prepared to handle your own net with your own fish if you want any chance at all to land them.

It's difficult to net a fish when you're blind folded, wearing a sack over your head, and wearing 3 pairs of gloves. I thought I did well to find the net.

As I left you two alone last night, I told my wife, them two are going at it, talking smack....She said who, Tincan? She says, "He hasn't got any room to talk smack, you two have not done to well this year."

I start laughing and realize I was slammed as well :o

Now that we've had our fun with this.................the real story.

We left the lighthouse at 8:00 and went to the spoil bar by the river channel. It took about 3 casts to hook up.

We went to at least 10 stops during the day. And as JT posted, we caught fish at every spot. And, we caught near everything in the Gulf, to include bluefish, blue runners, ladyfish, rock bass, flounder, pinfish, spanish mackerel, catfish, I had 1 puffer follow a bait to the boat, and of course, trout. I don't know how many fish we caught. I probably can't count that high. After the third stop I decided to play around. I threw every color I had, and caught fish on all of them. I caught a couple on a 2000, and a redfin. Some were caught on CT and jig. But most of the fish were caught on a straight bottom jig. While I was playing around with different colors, JT would fish with a grub until there was nothing left. The fish would tear it up until there would be less than an inch of body on the hook. And he still caught fish.

We kept 2 decent spanish and a 10 fish, 2 person limit of trout, ranging in size from 16" to 22".

As JT posted, we only caught 1 catfish on the last stop, but it was about 45 minutes after the predicted high tide, and the south wind kept the tide from turning. The water was slack.

JT took me to several of his productive spots. Some of which I didn't even know existed. He has a tremendous knowledge of the water in our area of the gulf. I know how he gained that knowledge. He's put his time in on the water. And, he was willing to share some of his knowledge with me.

If any of you are ever offered the chance to fish with Steve, jump at it. You won't regret it.

Steve, it was a very good day with very good company. Thanks for sharing a portion of your knowledge. I can't thank you enough.
