Arrived at St. Joe 6:15 am. Went straight to Half Hitch for their Tent Sale. The Tent Sale did'nt start 'til 9am. Bought some stuff anyway. At Presnells' at 6:45. Went north (I think) started fishing in 5 feet. Bait moving everywhere. Lot's of short topwater strikes.Switched to jerk baits 18 1/2 in the box.Next a 19 in the box,a 21 in the box,a 18 in the box,a 22 in the box.Released a 21,released a 22.Broke off a 25. Put on a shiner, the bait hits the water drag starts rippin',turned him around, as he passed 5 feet from the boat saw a just under 30 trout before the hook pulled.
Only about 6 shorts the whole day. Started back to the ramp when Butch saw a life jacket floating, turned around to pick it up. Saw a fish hiding under it. Took the net, drifted up to the jacket, took a deep scoop under and up.Got the life jacket and a 12" tripletail.
Saw lots of big blue crabs, alas,no crab trap. Maybe next time.

Man O Man..... from tak'n em out of crab traps ta drag'n in triple tails tangled up in life jackets.... I'm not sure I'd want a fish that had to wear a life jacket
