shortcut??

Post by Sawbones »

...trying to bypass the bypass. From Crawfordville to Midway, there appears to be a way to keep from getting on 263. There's a road on the map connecting Springhill road and hwy 20, however it has three different names: NF-305, J.B. Clark Road, and Silver Lake Road. Does anybody know if this road exists, and if so is it paved?

Silver lake road off of highway 20 turns to a dirt road and will get you to springhill road. The dirt road part is about 3 to 5 miles long. I dont know what the name of the road is at springhill but it is the road that the shooing range sign is on.

Thanks, Tod. That's what I thought. I guess it's 263 to 27 north or around the dam at lake Talquin to get back to Bainbridge. Sure do wish they's put in an alternate on that side of town.

Sawbones, I agree with you. There has got to be a better way than 263. If you try that J.B. Clark etc. route, let me know.
Sometimes I will go west on 90 from 263 and then north on 159. It is not any shorter in distance, but it can be quicker if 263 is moving slow.

5 and a half hours from my favorite fishing holes!
