EAST BAY PC

Post by Old Dog »

Tom Kirk and I fished for trout in East Bay at Calloway Saturday in the calm before the storm and we found the trout willing. We found trout in just about every place we fished and they hit just about everything we threw at 'em. I mainly used a DOA 1/4 oz glo shrimp suspended beneath a Cajun Thunder, but also free lined/tight lined with the same lure and did about as well. Normally I don't use the CJ's but last week my wife jumped way out ahead of me on the count and made a believer out of me so thought I'd add it to my arsenal next time out. Tom tried a variety of soft plastics and did well on everything he threw. I don't think the trout cared.

By the time we knocked off at 3:30 we had brought 140 trout to the boat and added 7 to the icechest. Of course we caught lots of small trout but what do you do, stop?

Chugbug if you fish the area I told you about and stay in water around 4' deep with patches of grass you'll have fun.

Tin Can, I wish I had stock in that outfit, it might do as well as that St Joe Stock some of my friends have. :lick: I forgot to mention in the post that my friend Tom used a lot of chartreuse lures the other day and did real well on those. (I remember how partial to chartreuse you are).

Chalk, your one fish probably equaled in weight half dozen ofsome of the bitties I caught the other day.
