Actually we got blown out on the 25th. Spent Saturday catching bait and leaving the trap full with 150 pinnfish for Sunday. Headed out early Sunday , Pinnfish king, couple of friends and myself. Every spot we hit was the same, couple of bites and shut off. You had to get them on the first try because its like only the hungry ones hit and the rest got lockjaw. Didn't have the dive equipment to check & see but will next weekend. We picked up only 7 Red grouper no gags. We did throw back about 15 or 20 shorts during the day. Called it early for the ride back home. It turned out slick Sunday afternoon after a rough start. Surprising, we caught keepers from 55ft to 25ft. Actually a 32 ft hole and a 25ft hole had more bites than the others. Seems like every year at this time the shallow stuff peaks out. don't forget to try your shallow stuff this weekend they may be on it. On the way in to pick up the pinnfish trap we were training a new driver and he ran over the rope cut it off and we had to leave it. Oh well looks like we will be checking the bottom for scallops next week in about 7 ft.... frank
