Keaton 7/16

Post by dstockwell »

Brim Buster, Sea Buzzard, the son and myself left the Keaton canal for a day offshore. Can tell you NOAA was again wrong, (wow is that surprising) 2 - 3 fairly close, on a quartering was little fun but we made are stop in 50 ish ft. It was already high tide, so the slow start I guess was to be expected. First stop produced very little, one grunt was the catch.. :smt013 Second, and third stop was much better but still not the best of results we were looking for, ok, its getting later in the day now and time to move some more. Last stop, tide changing, finally, this was the best spot for the day for sure and capped off a pretty good day. We made it just before the feeding time cause it was one feverish hour or so bite before it slacked bad, but that short of time was enough to produce a few nice fish.

So the total for the day

11 Grouper, biggest 11 pounds
Grunts
24 pound King

Brim Buster with a couple nice ones..

I knew it was going to be good. :smt010 I told a co-worker that I would watch his grandkids while he worked half a day. He called me at 10 that night and told me that his wife worked late thta night and she was going to watch them. I couldnt get a crew up in time. :smt012 I'm glad to see you got on em. Was it your "usual" spot?
