Our group totaled 18 people and the boat probably held about 50 fishermen. Going out of PC through the bay, it's amazing how different conditions are over there from Apalachee Bay. I couldn't believe the boat traffic - there were wahoos all over the place. Big boats, little boats, folks with rented boats (driving all over the place), jetskis; even saw a very big container vessel headed out to sea. The water going through the pass was rough - I sure wouldn't want to try and take my little boat through that every weekend. We watched lots of bayboats get TOSSED

Captain said we were about 15 miles offshore and fishing in roughly 100ft of water. This was the first time most of the folks from our group had been deepsea fishing. I hadn't been deepsea fishing since going as a Scout probably 9 years ago. Once we were out to sea, the water was pretty calm and the wind intermittent. The captain moved us from spot to spot as the bite changed. Our group caught plenty of snapper, one undersized grouper, two bonito and a few other random small fish. I had one fish latch on - smoke the drag, double the rod over and cut the line.

The youngest kid in the group ended up hauling in one of the bonitos. That little fella was mighty proud! The fish was about 2/3 the size of him and it's a wonder he held on to it, but he managed.

After the drive back to Tally, some of us stayed at the Scout hut and cleaned fish for about an hour and a half.
