winter fishing

Post by pops »

being real new to saltwater fishing, especially durning this time of year
low tide really means low tide, no water
yesterday at the econfina, no water for a long time
i quess one needs to wait and fish high tides
or fish other places

lincoln and I went out of there yesterday around 1:45

it was still pretty low in the river

this is normal for winter around here - extreme lows

folks were fishing in the river and out on the flat

we picked up 7 keepers all out on the flat in 2.5 hrs

we went out to about 7 feet and then worked our way back with the tide

they were hitting jigs at first but by the end, they would only hit an orange swimming plug - lincoln put on a clinic but i was too stubborn and kept on fishing a jig (candy corn) with no hits.

when we came in the water was up to "normal"
