Suggestions for a Trolling Rod

Post by d-tox »

I lost one of my trolling rods this weekend to a large fish (No kidding)! A sticking drag may have been part of the problem, but the fish tore the rod and the Perko rod holder right off my boat. If anyone catches a fish with an attached Penn Slammer rod and 320GTI, please let me know.

Anyway, I'm replacing the rod, but don't know if I should simply replace what I had or move up to something else. I was looking at the Penn Senator line or possibly the new Penn 320LD.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be helpful.

Thanks

Marland

hi marland
have you ever considerd a custom billystix spiral rod, if you have never fished spiral then this would be a great time to consider a custom spiral.
(caution) one spiral rod will cause you to have to replace the old otdated rods of past moons.
i would be happy to build you a great custom rod at a price you can live with, in return you will have one caddiliac rod that you will want to show to all others, not to mention the fact that you will find you will want to take it to the bed room to lay and admier the thing of beauty untill you fall asleep, then you can fish all night like i do ,
tight lines billy
give me a shout i will tell you more about the spiral.
