Twice this weekend my line broke whilst I was casting. After further review I found flaw in the guide at the end of my rod. I assume it was cutting my line(Power Pro 10lb). I looked at it hard but can't tell if its worn or just cracked. The rod is a Berkly Bionix 7" md action spin.
Whats anyone elses thoughts? Just a crack or is it worn from the Braided Line. Thats all I ever used on it.
More than likely it is just cracked. Even the cheapest ceramic guide inserts are about impossible to groove with even a triangular file. If you want, bring it by next time you're in Tallahassee and I'll take a look at it. I'll send you my number in a PM.
I have a 5'6 Penn Grouper rod I like , its a few years old and has started rusting under all the eyes, looking at it i think it needs to have the eyes taken off , cleaned and re-wrapped. Its only about an $ 80.00 rod so its not worth to much to have it repaired. Anybody know a cheap repair guy ? If not i'll just put it in the back-up pile ... thx... frank
But can he do it cheap, I mean CHEAP that's the kinda repairman Frank's lookin fer
