scalloping?

Post by kudzu »

looking forward to some scalloping in July/Aug and looking into the Big Bend area around Econfina. Just me and two kids, luckily, my wife doesn't mind shucking if she can get a bit of sun in the meantime. Have had good luck at St Marks and Steinhatchee but never tried in the middle. Anyone have recommendations?

Isn't there still a commercial landing with condos or a lodge off 98 along the Econfina? The Ed & Jamie Sheffield used to own or run it at one
time? Is it still in operation?

You didn't say if you had a boat. I scallop off St Marks and also off Shell Point. I have a 24 ft pontoon boat and a house in Oyster bay.

If you want to rent a boat for a day and scallop please let me know. If you have a boat tou can launch in my neighborhood and we can tag along and you and family can scallop. If youo have a boat of your own it won't cost you a cent.

Good luck,

Captain Charlie
