We got a late start at about 10:30 for various, and not worth talkin about, reasons.
As most of you down here know, it was a nice day for being on the water. Temp was about 63*, with near clear sky.
The water was pretty clean and mostly clear. Surface temp at the E Pass was 59*. Seas were at about 2-3, but settle down to 1-2 by mid-afternoon as forcasted.
We tried to find some live bait at one of the bouys, to no avail, before motoring out about 12 miles SW of the Pass.
Our first spot, over 60' bottom, was the most productive with 5 gags and 4 reds boated. 3 of the gags went in the box. The best bait seem to be squid, but we got a few hits on L/Y's.
I jigged from the front of the boat, til they quit bitin and missed out catching a fish.
Bobby seem to be the only one holdin his mouth right, in that he caught most of the fish. I think Freddy caught one short. They became very tight lipped after about an hour point 5.
We move about 4 times, to various spots to near 70' and got little interest, except for an occasional bite (bottom?).
Interesting enough, and as wevans stated in his report of last night, the water temp was 57*, when I checked around 3PM. I woulda thought it would have warmed a little as the day progressed..???
Took it to the hill about 4, and were met by 'th' man', as we approached the TI ramp.
He was business in attitude, but a friendly enough cuss, and only ask to see our catch. We had an interesting 2 minutes of conversation, mostly small talk about the fishing. I did ask him, if he had check many boats so far, and his answer was 8 or 10, and commented, that the bag average was about like ours at 2-3.
I took a few pictures here a couple of them.
Freddy tinkerin with his new Garmin.

And Bobby fusin cause I didn't take a shot of the bigger one.

Yeah, we had a good day for sure.
