Post by BlueDrifter »

Any members going out this weekend? Maybe a little informal float somewhere. I may have to work (end of month) but usually am free on Sunday. Otherwise I will be on Lake Jackson Highway 27 Ramp/ I will know for sure on Sat afternoon

NO WORK SAT

Post by BlueDrifter »

I don't have to go to work on Sat so unless my wife throws a hissy :smt014 I will go Sat am even if its very could. Stay until about noon I will launch at the 27 ramp (beach) follow the narrow cut through the weeds then at the end of that follow the right hand shore around as best I can. There seems to be duck hunters on the lake so I wouldnt want to disturb them so will, if they are around, take a wide route around then.

I've been fishing jackson for the last two weeks. shinners are your best bet. on artifical we had the best luck on june bug color lizards. I havn't caught one over 4 lbs yet but I saw some big ones. One man with a 14.2 an a lady with a 13. we fish out of the ramp on Crowder Rd. I live on the gulf 9 months out of the year, so i like the fresh water when I'm home. just been yak fishing for two months.

No fish today. But this summer should be great for US yakkers and waders. I bet you can wade all theway across the lake from the landing at 27.

Saw bunches of fish swirls especially in the channel.

Wind kicked up so my lure was turning around in mid flight so didnt stay long. LOVE my YAK no problems in the wind at all except a little moe effort.
