Met up again at TnT and launched a little after 8:30. Went up to the Cherry Island where I took my time and got pics of this cutting-edge, state-of-the-art trolling motor I've been seeing up there.
As I was going up past the island I met Billy coming back down. Fished my way on up, realized Billy wasn't following and Bakertize was nowhere in sight, decided I'd better head back down and catch up to Billy in case Bakertize had come down the other side of the island as I was going up. Caught up to Billy and found out, as I suspected, Bakertize had continued up river. Turned around and headed back up river.
Up to this point, not only had we not caught anything, I hadn't even seen any bass, to speak of, until I got up past the power lines.
Caught up to Bakertize about 3/4 of the way up from Lower Bridge to Upper Bridge, he had been all the way up. By now we had both seen some nice bass, but no takers.
The wind made getting back difficult and fishing a real pain. We didn't fish much on the way back down.
Got passed twice today by a boat with "Hoosier Dummy," or something, stenciled down the side that thought Slow Speed means bog. People like this make me think the idea of this river being a no-motor zone is a good one.
Missed a picture of a gator sunning on a log, but these are blooming up and down the river.
All in all, an excellent trip. Beautiful day to be on the river. Thanks guys.
