Put in at the lighthouse at daylight. Went west near the first stake. Not much going. Move out near the second stake and started catching. First two in the box were 23 and 21. Ended up with seven for the grill and had to release two more that were fat 23's. Headed back by one.
Until then my biggest trout ever was 23" and I had only caught one, then I caught three in one trip! All caught on straight jigs. Had several blow ups on topwater early, but no hookups. They all seem to be striking just short. Any idea why? Also had one hit on a pin fish floating behind the boat. Cut through the 40lb leader like it was nothing. I'm thinking spanish.
That's a mighty sweet day I contend that the bigger the Trout get..... the worse their eyesight getts
