Scallops

Post by flatfish »

Does anyone have an update on scallops? So far they seem to be very scarce. I know that scallop season tends to bring the less considerate out in force, but please do not put me in that category. I fish first, and scallop with my girls who would rather snorkle and swim than fish. I must have done something fundamentally wrong in their early years. However, funny how they will pretend to fish when they bring their boyfriends.

Anyway, looking for some help. We will be in the Steinhatchee area in early August.

From reading the reports posted it is varying. Seems PSJ has had some, other meca's for scalloping such as Keaton, the reports seem to be slim. If there going to be any should have some luck at Steinhatchee by early Aug. I've only been fishing myself but I haven't seen any in the Econfina area.

Also I'm not much of scalloper but at some point I will have to take my kids at least once. :)
