Make sure if you use a Rinnai you stick with gas. The electric ones aren't cost effective.

I ain't gonna post up what my house cost me...but I will say that natural gas is a rip off. I got that straight from a retired Amoco accountant. :cry:

2100 sq ft - $90-95 in summer $50 in winter. Thermo set at 78. Gas water heater, gas heating and gas stove. :D

The nicest thing about the tankless water heaters isn't the savings (mine is propane), it is the fact that you never have to take a short shower. Even if you are the last one in, you can stand in there for hours if you want.

There are a lot of things that can be done to make a home more energy efficient but you have to weigh the cost against what you will save. Take attic insulation, the spray in foam style that attaches to the underside of your roof is in my oppinion the best but it is very costly. How long would it take to make that money back in your monthly power bill? My home is very energy efficient but I pay more in my mortgage because it is. What is the old saying, "you can pay me now or pay me later"?
