St Marks 9-30

Post by Redfish Jim »

Went out from St. Marks on my friend's 23' offshore boat. Fished from 60' in to 42'. Best bite of the day was at the end of the falling tide at our first stop out in 60'. Got a couple of gags trolling stretch 30's and got our one-fish-per-person limit on red groupers on frozen mackeral in short order.

The bite stopped with the tide. It got a little better once it turned but not nearly as good as when we first got there. We still managed to pick up a few more fish and came back with a decent mess of fish, including a red snapper. Caught at least a couple fish at every depth we fished (60', 50' and 42').

Ran into a friend running back up the river who had more fresh mullet than he needed. I'm just a lucky so and so. We're gonna have us one heckuva feast tonight :lick:
