SJB and elswhere 10/5 & 10/8

Post by Barhopr »

Started they day with the greatest of expectations for the trip. Left Presnells as soon as the light would let us and headed South. Trout were the main target but as the morning wore on we had to expand our list. We had to fish hard for the fish we got. Boated many under sized trout and many many blues. Finally ended the day with two kepper trout, 2 flatties and a respectable 19" red. Called it a day around 2pm. Heres the red:

Thinking I could improve on Thurs. catch I went out again on Sun. by myself and went to scout more than anything, but ended up boating several undersized reds and a few slot reds that I culled to 24". Also boated a few trout. All caught on spoons and exude crabs. Back at the dock by 2pm.

Nice mess of fish, BH.

Looks like you're giving that Beavertail a workout.

I'm trying. It's hard to keep up with you "old pros" but I'm giving it a good try.

I would guess that alot of the old pros are jealous of that boat...That's a great looking ride.

BH, I don't know what kind of line you're using, but it looks like it has a lot of memory.

As to the 6pack cooler for measuring, I use the just legal trout for grouper baits and that coiled line is actually a leash, he's pet sized at 24". That may be a new boat but I ain't new to fishing, just fishing in SJB, and new out of that boat.
