Had a buddy in town from ATL this past weekend. We had planned on fishing St Joe Bay, but due to wind, and a few other factors too detailed to discuss here, we ended up at Lanark. I figured after last weekends trip that it was a pretty safe bet. Started out a little slower than last weeks action. Started seeing a few fish in 1 - 2 ft of water, but they were spooky, unlike the week before when they were practically attacking us. Funny how a 22" fish can be afraid of a 1/2" spoon fly. Anyway, finally got a couple to cooperate, and as the tide got lower, the wind laid down a little, and the fish got a little happier. Ended up with a dozen or so reds, 4 or 5 flounder, a few lizardfish, a couple ladyfish, and a bunch of pinfish. I actually saw a flounder totally clear the water chasing baitfish. I didn't even know they could jump. All reds and ladyfish were sightfished on fly (from a distance I thought the ladyfish was a red). Everything else was a casualty of war. Oh, and big props to my wife, as this all occured on the day of our wedding anniversary.

....You still using that self built push pole?

Took the wife to a nice dinner at Tamara's in Apalach that night, so I made up for it. For anybody that's never tried that place, I highly suggest it.

Chalk - push pole broke. I made a couple attempts at carbon fiber pushpoles, and learned that when it comes to those things, leave them to the experts. To get one that's truly light and strong, you have to use materials and methods that are beyond what's readily available and useable without ovens, etc. If you want a really good carbon pushpole, for a really reasonable price, check these guys out.....
