Went for a walk this afternoon- Had fun and shot a few birds
It was a gorgeous day to be out- Blue blue sky.
Pulled out my Uncle Walter's old 20 Gage Remington- love that gun!

We used to take folks snipe hunting all the time.....never killed any though. :-D

Im with you RF! It also has been dark every time that I went hunting for Snipe :-D

I have never shot snipe under blue skies and in shirt sleeves. :o

There has to be a gusting, chilly wind, with some rain mixed in it and pointing dogs working close.

Following an afternoons hard walking through the bog marsh, you have to sit back in an easy chair before a peat fire and listen to the wind in the chimney.

If you are a drinking man, a single malt is appreciated, to dull the aching muscles.

After a while, you are permitted to close your eyes and dream of snipe lifting on the wind, fast shots, great retrieves, veal and ham pie eaten with your back to a stone wall................ :sleep:

DOG GONE IT CRAN!! :o now you've done put a hanker'n on me! :thumbup: :roll: :-D

This time next week however, I will be headed towards Oklahoma to see my Son and his family....chase some quail and pheasant play with my grand daughter and grand son.... eat some turkey... and try to remain calm while continuing to educate my 9mo old Brit.... on wild birds.
