I donated a flats fishing trip back in May for a church auction. It took five months for the guys to get there schedules staight and set a date. We put the boat in at Econfina at daylight and man was it chilly. It amazes me how people can show up in just shot sleeves with the temp down in the 40's. They said it would be OK they, we can take it, RIGHT!!! After a 20 min boat ride they were ready for some movement just to warm themselves up. With low tide after 10:00 I knew we would have most of our trout action early. The morning was steady and ended up with 16 keeper trout (4 people fishing), two big spanish, few small reds (they were throw backs), and two nice flounder. When low tide hit, everything turned off. I spent from 11:00 until 1:30 just trying to get a fish/bite. Moved out to deeper water (4/5 feet) and found some trout but they were tooo small. Headed down the river at 3:00 with three tired anglers. All said, they had a nice cooler full of fish!!! Now, somebody want to help clean the boat???
Good trip. I bet they were cold in short sleeves. Flounders must finally be making their way in, we got 3 real nice ones yesterday. Did anybody help you clean the boat?
