Trolling St. marks

Post by rx fisher »

Went last Saturday with a couple of buddies to try this grouper trolling thing. Had tried a few times before, but never stayed with it very long.

Today was different, we were in about 35 feet of water, 68 degrees.
Dropped on some spots if it looked good, no grouper bites except trolling.

Dropped a 25+ green and orange, Green rapala (somethingX), 25+ started getting bites, first in the boat a bonita, good bait for later.

2nd-3rd bites on the 25+ one keeper 1 short, then a changed rapala out for a 30+ redhead, douple hook up,

Thought we were on the bottom one time, but turned out to be a foul hooked gag, nice.

Finished the day with a very nice red grouper, only one of the day
they really are endangered.

Another great day on the water with friends. 6 groupers, 1 flounder, several nice rock bass.
