My.. (new to me).. "flats attack vessel" has salt residue on it. It sat for a few weeks at Spring creek before the previous owner knew about the spring stopping.
The whitish crusty stuff is on the boat and the motor foot. What is good to remove this with?

RED BELLY WHEN I GO TO PAINT A ALUM. BOAT I WASH IT DOWN WITH BAKING SODA, THEN RINSE WITH PRESSURE SPRAYER, LET IT DRY OFF IN THE SUN. USING A THIN WIRE BRASSBRUSH, I USE DAWN LIQ. DETERGENT AND SCRUB THE EXTERNAL SURFACE WITH THIS SOLUTION AND THE BRASS WIRE WORK ABOUT 4' TIME AND THEN WASH OFF WITH PRESSURE WASHER. AFTER DRYING I WOULD SPRAY THE ENTIRE HULL WITH W-D 40 AND LET DRY IN THE SUN FOR SEVERAL DAYS. IF I WERE GOING TO PAINT THE BOAT, I WOULD LEAVE OFF THE W-D 40 AND SPRAY THE EXTERIOR WITH VINIGAR AND LET SIT OVER NIGHT, THEN PUT IN SUN AND LET DRY BEFORE PAINTING THE BASE COAT.
HOPE THIS HELPS.

In the past we cleaned the bottom of a pantoon boat.
Used a scaper to remove what we could, then used a pressure washer to remove the rest. Just be sure it is dry and crusty when you start. This worked very well.
If we were all crazy, Wouldn't that make us all normal.
